Eating well after 50 is genuinely different from eating well in your thirties, and nobody really tells you that.
Your calorie needs may drop slightly, but your nutrient needs go up. Protein becomes more important for holding on to muscle. Calcium and vitamin D matter more for your bones. Your gut microbiome shifts. And inflammatory foods start to have a more noticeable effect on energy, joints and mood.
But this is emphatically not about restriction or rules or giving things up. We are not going to tell you to cut out bread.
It is about eating in a way that feels nourishing rather than punishing, and understanding which foods your body will genuinely thank you for at this stage of life. We celebrate food here.
